UT Print Center: Your Guide to Library Printing Services

Need to print documents on campus? The Ut Print Center, managed by the University of Texas Libraries, offers convenient and accessible printing solutions for students, faculty, and staff. Whether you’re working from a library workstation or your own device, UT Print Center provides various options to meet your printing needs. This guide will walk you through the different methods available, ensuring a smooth and efficient printing experience.

Printing from Library Public Workstations

For quick and easy printing while working in the library, you can utilize the public workstations available. Here’s how to print from these computers:

  1. Initiate Print: From the application containing the document you wish to print (e.g., Word, PDF viewer, browser), select File and then Print.
  2. Choose Print Queue: In the printer selection menu, you will see three print queue options. Choose the one that matches your printing needs:
    • UT Lib BW Printer: For standard black and white printing.
    • UT Lib Color Printer: For color prints.
    • UT Lib Ledger Printer: For larger format printing (11×17 inches), available at the Perry-Castañeda Library (PCL) and the Fine Arts Library.
  3. Enter Job Name: A pop-up window will appear, prompting you to enter a name for your print job. This will help you identify your document at the print release station. Enter a descriptive name and click “OK” or “Print.”
  4. Go to Print Release Station: Head to any print release station within the library. These stations are typically located near the public workstations and printers.
  5. Login at Release Station: Swipe your UT EID card through the attached card reader. Alternatively, you can log in manually using your UT EID and password on the station’s interface.
  6. Release Your Print Job: Once logged in, a list of your print jobs will appear in the queue you selected earlier. Select your job by its name and click the Print button to release it to the printer.
