Printing documents at Purdue University from your mobile device is now easier than ever, thanks to PaperCut Mobility Print and Mobile Release. Whether you’re using a laptop, phone, or tablet, you can quickly send your files to Purdue Printers.
Printing from Your Personal Device on Purdue Network
To get started with mobile printing, ensure your device is connected to the Purdue University network. This means being on PAL Wi-Fi or using the Purdue VPN if you are off-campus. For details on setting up the VPN, visit Purdue IT VPN Service.
Next, you’ll need to download PaperCut Mobility Print onto your personal device. This handy software is compatible with a wide range of devices, including Chromebooks, iPads, iPhones, Macs, Windows, and Android devices.
PaperCut Mobility Print supports various common file types for printing, such as Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PDFs, PowerPoint presentations, and images. You can also customize your print settings to choose between single-sided or double-sided (duplex) printing to save paper.
Here’s how to set up Purdue Print on your device:
- Download PaperCut Mobility Print: Go to https://printers.itap.purdue.edu:9164/setup or find the ‘Mobility Print’ link at the bottom left of the PaperCut website (itap.purdue.edu/papercut).
- Run the Mobility Print installer: Follow the on-screen instructions. This will install the “itap-printing” (black and white) and “itap-colorprinting” (color) print queues on your device, giving you access to Purdue’s printers.
- Authenticate with Purdue Login: When prompted, enter your Purdue username and password to connect your device to the Purdue printing system.
Should you encounter any difficulties during setup, the Purdue IT Service Desks are available to assist you. Visit them at HIKS or WALC during their operating hours. You can find the current hours here: Purdue IT Service Desk Hours
