I’m encountering persistent printing problems with both SketchUp Pro and LayOut, and it’s significantly impacting my professional workflow. I’m running Windows 10 Pro and utilizing the latest 2023 versions of SketchUp. The core issue revolves around printing to scale, a fundamental requirement for professional outputs.
Within SketchUp Pro, I’m facing two primary obstacles. Firstly, the expected “Page Setup…” and “Document Setup…” options are absent from the “File” menu, leaving only the “Print…” option available. This immediately restricts my ability to pre-configure print settings, particularly scale. Secondly, upon accessing the “Print…” window, the crucial “document size” section, which should house scale selection tools, is entirely missing. This isn’t a case of a greyed-out feature; the entire section is simply absent from the print dialog.
Moving to LayOut, the situation is equally problematic. While I can seemingly select a scale by right-clicking on my imported SketchUp drawing (imported with Standard view and parallel projection), the actual printed output consistently deviates from the specified scale. The discrepancy, although minor at approximately 0.5 millimeters, is enough to compromise the accuracy required for professional prints. Attempts to fine-tune adjustments via “Document Setup” to values like 0.000001 have yielded no discernible improvement. Furthermore, LayOut also lacks any scaling options within the “Page Setup…”, “Document Setup…”, and “Print…” menus, mirroring the limitations experienced in SketchUp Pro.
To isolate the problem, I’ve rigorously tested these softwares across five different computers and eight different printers. The issues persist consistently across all setups. I even explored SketchUp Viewer as an alternative, but its print options are equally unhelpful, presenting empty fields and failing to print to scale even when manually populated.
Having already contacted official support channels without receiving effective solutions, I’m reaching out to the community for assistance. It’s becoming increasingly apparent that there might be a specific issue with my software version or configuration. Any insights or guidance from experienced “Pro Print” users within the SketchUp community would be greatly appreciated in resolving these frustrating printing challenges.
