What is the printing allotment for students?
Each semester, fee-paying students without account flags receive a printing allotment through the ITS Print Plan. This allotment is automatically added to your One Card and can be used at any supported print location. The page allotments are as follows:
- Fall: 400 pages

- Summer Session I (SSI): 175 pages
- Summer Session II (SSII): 175 pages
- Maymester: 175 pages

Pharos, known as the Carolina Print Hub printing client, is the software that manages and tracks your print plan funds. It’s a print management solution designed to help UNC print more efficiently, reduce costs, and enhance printing security.

While most students (95%) stay within their print allocation, exceeding it will require personal payment. Black & white prints cost $0.10 per page, and color prints are $0.30 per page.

The allocation system is designed to meet the needs of the majority of students, with only a small percentage needing to pay extra for printing.
