Locate an Accurate Biometrics Fingerprint Location: Find the most convenient Accurate Biometrics location near you by using the location finder tool. Accurate Biometrics offers numerous locations with flexible hours, and appointments are typically not needed, making the process accessible and convenient.
Visit Accurate Biometrics with Required Documents and Payment: Go to your chosen Accurate Biometrics location. Remember to bring a valid government-issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license, state ID, or passport) for identity verification. Payment of $67.00 is required at the time of fingerprinting, covering both state and FBI processing fees. Accurate Biometrics accepts major credit cards and money orders, but does not accept cash or personal checks.
Fingerprint Capture and Transmission: At the Accurate Biometrics location, trained professionals will capture your fingerprints digitally. These fingerprints are then securely and electronically transmitted to the Illinois State Police (ISP) on the same day.
Transaction Control Number (TCN) Receipt: Upon completion of your fingerprint capture, you will receive a fingerprint services receipt. This receipt is important as it contains your Transaction Control Number (TCN). Keep this receipt safe as the TCN may be required when completing your official license application with the IDFPR.

Obtain Two FBI FD-258 Fingerprint Cards: Print two copies of the standard FBI FD-258 fingerprint card form on standard white printer/copy paper. Important Note for International Applicants: Ensure you use the standard FBI FD-258 form. Fingerprints submitted on non-FBI forms will not be accepted.
Get Fingerprints Taken Professionally: Obtain two sets of fingerprints using the ink and roll method on the FBI FD-258 cards. You can have this done at a local law enforcement agency or a licensed fingerprinting service in your area. When specifying the reason for fingerprinting, indicate “RN” or “LPN” as applicable to your license application. Accurate Biometrics also accepts fingerprint cards created via electronic capture by authorized providers.
