The print quality is excellent, perfectly capturing the detail and care I put into creating these personal histories. Just like my first order in December 2023, this recent batch showcased beautiful covers and an overall polished, professional look. For such a detailed project, the price point remained remarkably reasonable, making Mixam an excellent value for hardback book printing.
Beyond the product itself, the customer service was generally helpful. I particularly appreciated Mixam’s proactive approach when they contacted me about a measurement discrepancy with my book spine – their attention to detail ensured a perfect final product. Email communication with customer service was also efficient and effective for the most part.
However, there were a couple of areas where my experience could have been improved. Initially, I encountered an issue with the online preview tool where some pages appeared out of order after uploading my PDF. While customer service eventually resolved this, the initial response was dismissive, suggesting the incorrect page order was intentional. This led to unnecessary frustration and a phone call to clarify the issue. Thankfully, a second email exchange with a different representative was much more professional and helpful, clarifying the preview’s limitations and directing me to focus on the PDF proof for accuracy – which is sound advice for anyone undertaking hardback book printing.
My other concern relates to packaging. In my previous order, each set of ten books was individually wrapped in plastic inside the shipping box. This provided crucial protection, especially as I live in an area prone to rain, and delivery dates can be unpredictable. Unfortunately, this time the plastic wrapping was absent, although the books were securely packed in a sturdy box with bubble wrap. While the books arrived safely in a robust box, the added plastic wrapping offers significant peace of mind against potential weather-related damage during transit.
Despite these minor drawbacks in customer service interaction and packaging, my overall satisfaction with Mixam for hardback book printing remains high. The quality of the printed books, the professional finish, and the reasonable pricing are significant positives. I would confidently recommend Mixam to friends and will certainly use their services again for future hardback book printing projects.
