Forgetting to print an assignment before class? Is your personal printer out of ink again? The University of Arkansas offers a convenient solution for all students with UARK PrintSmart. This service allows you to easily print documents across campus using the general access printers located in Tech Spot labs, including Mullins Library, making student life a little bit easier.
PrintSmart’s Web Print feature lets you upload and submit documents as PDFs, or directly from file types like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. You can send these print jobs from your laptop, tablet, or phone to any Tech Spot lab printer on campus. To access these convenient printing locations, check out the list of Tech Spot labs available. Once you’ve sent your document, simply visit your chosen printer, scan the QR code posted on it, and follow the simple instructions to release your print job. Remember, if you’re off campus or not connected to the UARK Wi-Fi, you’ll need a campus VPN connection to access PrintSmart.
UARK PrintSmart also helps manage your printing budget. Each semester, every student receives a print quota equivalent to 350 single-sided black toner pages, valued at $35, completely free of charge. You can easily monitor your print quota status by logging into printsmart.uark.edu with your UARK login credentials. Need to print more? You can increase your quota by simply clicking “Add Razorbuck$” within the PrintSmart portal and transferring funds from your Razorbuck$ account.
For specialized printing needs, the Student Technology Center is your go-to resource. They offer a Xerox printer capable of handling various formats and media types. The center stocks resume paper, cardstock, and tabloid paper, in addition to standard copy paper. If you require a different type of paper, you can usually bring your own. Pricing for special prints is straightforward: color prints are 50 cents per page, black and white are 10 cents, and tabloid size prints are 60 cents. You can pay for these special prints directly or charge them to your Razorbuck$ account.
Finally, remember that sustainable practices are important. In 2021, over 2 million pages went unclaimed at Tech Spot printers, highlighting significant paper waste. Help reduce waste and save resources by only printing the pages you absolutely need, especially from large documents or articles. You can also contribute to paper conservation by utilizing double-sided printing (duplex) option in your print settings whenever possible.
