Transform Your Memories into Stunning Canvas Prints

Looking for a unique way to display your cherished photos? Print Canvas Prints and turn your favorite memories into beautiful works of art. Canvas prints offer a текстурированный look and feel, adding depth and character to any image. They are a fantastic option for wall décor, bringing warmth and personality to your living spaces. But what exactly are canvas prints, and why are they such a popular choice? Let’s explore some frequently asked questions.

What Exactly is a Canvas Print?

A canvas print is essentially a high-quality photograph printed directly onto artist-grade canvas material. This isn’t just any fabric; it’s typically a durable cotton-poly blend specifically designed for printing. Think of it as a digital image reimagined as a textured piece of art, mimicking the look of an original painting.

The canvas itself is quite substantial, usually around 0.017 inches thick and weighing between 320 and 340 GSM (grams per square meter). Crucially, it features a special gesso coating. This coating is key because it provides a beautiful matte finish, prevents ink from bleeding, and allows for a vibrant and wide range of colors to be accurately reproduced. The subtle texture of the canvas is integral to achieving that artistic aesthetic and maintaining exceptional image clarity.

Our canvas prints are created in-store using professional, large-format inkjet Epson printers. These printers are designed to print directly onto rolls of canvas, and we carefully adjust the print speed settings to guarantee the highest possible print quality for your photos.

Will My Canvas Prints Fade Over Time?

The longevity of your canvas prints is a common concern, and rightly so. Like any printed material, canvas prints can be susceptible to fading over extended periods. However, the degree of fading is influenced by several factors that we take into account to ensure lasting quality. These factors include the specific canvas and ink combination used, the level of direct ultraviolet (UV) light exposure, and the surrounding environment where the print is displayed. For instance, exposure to airborne fumes from cooking or cleaning products can accelerate fading.

To combat fading and ensure your memories last, we utilize Epson UltraChrome HD Pigment Ink Technology. Prints made with these inks are rated by Wilhelm Imaging Research (WIR) to have exceptional Album and Dark Storage Permanence Ratings, exceeding 200 years under proper conditions. Furthermore, these inks provide remarkable resistance to atmospheric ozone, excellent water resistance, and are highly resilient to damage from humidity during storage or display.

While ongoing accelerated testing continues, current data indicates that UltraChrome HD pigment inks can offer up to double the WIR Display Permanence Ratings compared to earlier generations of Epson UltraChrome inks when used with compatible Epson photo and fine art papers. This means your canvas prints are designed to preserve your precious moments for generations to come.

What is Canvas Photo Paper? Is It the Same?

It’s important to distinguish between a true canvas print and “canvas photo paper.” Canvas photo paper is essentially photographic paper that has been textured to resemble canvas. While it mimics the visual appearance of canvas before printing, it lacks the actual texture and durability of real canvas and cannot be stretched onto a frame like a true canvas print.

Canvas photo paper can be a more budget-friendly alternative for achieving a canvas-like look. It features a matte finish and is compatible with both dye and pigment inks. Typically, it weighs around 230 GSM and is approximately 11mm thick. The back of canvas photo paper is plain, uncoated paper. To display canvas photo paper, you would typically frame it under glass like a regular photograph or mount it onto a rigid backing.
