HP Printing: AVOID at All Costs – My Horrific Experience

HP printers might seem appealing, but my experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. When it actually decides to work – and that’s a big ‘if’, usually after a frustrating troubleshooting session lasting ages – the print quality is acceptable. However, that’s where any positives end.

The HP ink subscription service is an absolute scam. Despite paying for three years, I never received a single extra ink cartridge, nor could I ever utilize the promised rollover pages. Upon finally cancelling this rip-off service, the HP smart app still insists my cartridges are low but supposedly functional. Yet, every print job results in blank pages. Ironically, printing only became possible through the HP Smart App in the first place, even though with the ink subscription, standard printing directly from documents or websites was previously functional.

My advice? Steer clear of HP printers altogether, and definitely avoid their ink subscription. Purchase your own ink from a supplier you trust and print as needed, without restrictive subscriptions. It’s also crucial to know that with their subscription, you’re limited to a certain number of pages per month. Exceeding this limit incurs extra charges per page. Worse still, any printing errors or misprints, even if printer-related, count against your monthly page allowance. Furthermore, if you dare to use a prepaid or locked credit card for the subscription, printing becomes a hurdle of updating payment information whenever your card is locked at payment time – even with accumulated rollover pages! Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for your printing needs.
