Cornell University offers a convenient and efficient printing service known as CU Print, designed to meet the diverse printing needs of students, faculty, and staff across campus. This service provides a streamlined and cost-effective solution for all your printing requirements, whether you are working in a library, computer lab, or from your own device.
What is CU Print?
CU Print, powered by Cornell Information Technologies, is the central campus printing service at Cornell. It allows you to easily send print jobs from any networked computer to a wide network of laser printers located in key areas such as libraries and computer labs. Access to CU Print is seamlessly integrated with your Cornell NetID and password, ensuring secure and easy access for all enrolled students and authorized personnel. A CU Print account is automatically created for all matriculated students, making the service readily available from day one.
Printing On and Off Campus
The flexibility of Cornell Printing extends to both on-campus and off-campus locations. While on campus, you can utilize CU Print printers from any university computer connected to the Cornell network. For printing from your personal computer or when off-campus, you’ll need to install the CU Print software. It’s important to note that computer labs on campus may have specific access guidelines, particularly concerning COVID-19 related restrictions, so it’s advisable to check for any updates before planning your visit.
To ensure secure access and printing functionality, connecting to Cornell’s secure Wi-Fi network is essential. This excludes the Cornell-Visitor network. If you are printing from off-campus, you must first establish a secure connection to the Cornell network using CU VPN. This ensures that your print jobs are securely transmitted and processed within the Cornell infrastructure.
Key Features and Benefits of Cornell Printing

- Transparent Fee Structure: For printing beyond the allocated amount or for specific printing needs, CU Print maintains a clear and detailed fee structure. For comprehensive information on printing costs, please refer to CU Print Fees and Billing.
