Replacing the toner in your Brother printer is a straightforward process that ensures your printer continues to produce high-quality documents. This guide provides simple, step-by-step instructions to help you replace your Brother printer toner cartridge efficiently.
To begin, ensure your Brother printer is powered on. Then, open the front cover of the printer. It’s important to wait approximately 10 minutes to allow the internal fan to cool down the machine’s internal components, which can become very hot during operation.
Next, carefully remove the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly from the printer.
After removing the assembly, push down the green lock lever to release the old toner cartridge from the drum unit. Detach and set aside the empty cartridge.
Unpack your new Brother printer toner cartridge. Hold the new cartridge horizontally and gently shake it from side to side a few times. This action helps to evenly distribute the toner inside for optimal print quality.
Remove the protective cover from the new toner cartridge.
Now, firmly insert the new toner cartridge into the drum unit until you hear it click into place. Ensure it is securely locked. The green lock lever should lift automatically if the toner is correctly installed.
Before reinstalling the assembly, clean the corona wire inside the drum unit. Gently slide the green tab from left to right and then back from right to left several times. Remember to return the tab to its original position (▲).
Finally, reinstall the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly back into your Brother printer. Close the front cover.
After replacing your Brother printer toner, wait for the “Please Wait” message to disappear from the LCD screen and for the printer to return to “Ready” mode. This indicates that the toner replacement process is complete and your printer is ready for use. Regularly replacing your toner ensures consistent print quality from your Brother printer.
