Your Guide to Print TAMU & AggiePrint at Texas A&M

Understanding Your AggiePrint Allocation

Texas A&M University provides each enrolled undergraduate and graduate student with a print allocation every semester. For the Fall and Spring semesters, students receive $30 in print credits. During the Summer semester, the allocation is $15. These allocations are automatically applied to your AggiePrint account at the beginning of each semester.

To check your current AggiePrint balance, you have two convenient options. You can sign in to any print kiosk located across campus using your NetID and password. Your remaining funds will be displayed on the kiosk screen. Alternatively, you can visit the Print TAMU website at https://print.tamu.edu/ and log in with your NetID to view your balance online.

AggiePrint uses a system of “purses” to manage your print funds. The “allocation purse” contains your semesterly print allocation. The “refund purse” holds any print refunds you may have received due to printing errors or issues. Finally, the “user pays purse” tracks any additional funds you have manually added to your account through the Print TAMU website.

The system is designed to prioritize your student allocation first. AggiePrint will automatically deduct printing costs from your allocation purse until it is depleted. Once your allocation is used up, it will then draw from your refund purse, and lastly from your user pays purse. This ensures you always benefit fully from your university-provided print allocation before using any personal funds you’ve added.

It’s important to note that any unused balance in your allocation purse will not roll over to the next semester. At the end of each semester, the allocation purse is reset to zero. Only funds in your refund purse and user pays purse are carried over to subsequent semesters, remaining available until you graduate. Departmental allocations function differently and require explicit selection at the time of printing. If you have a departmental charge account and wish to use those funds, you must select it; otherwise, the charges will be applied to your personal AggiePrint purses. More information on departmental accounts can be found here.

Tips for Extending Your AggiePrint Allocation

To help your AggiePrint funds last throughout the semester, consider these cost-saving printing practices:

  • Print in Black and White: Whenever possible, choose to print documents in black and white instead of color. Black and white printing is significantly cheaper than color printing and is suitable for most academic documents.
  • Utilize Double-Sided Printing: When printing files with multiple pages, always select the double-sided print option. This will print on both sides of the paper, effectively halving your paper usage and reducing your print costs.
  • Consider N-UP Printing: For printing PowerPoint presentations or similar slide-based documents, use N-UP printing. This option allows you to print multiple slides per page, saving both paper and print credits. You can find more information on N-UP printing here.
