Your Guide to UChicago Printing Services: Locations, Web Printing, and More

Navigating printing on the University of Chicago campus just got easier. Whether you’re a student, faculty member, or staff, UChicago’s comprehensive printing system is designed to meet your needs across libraries, residence halls, and various campus locations. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know about Uchicago Printing, from setting up your account to finding the nearest printer and understanding costs.

Getting Started with UChicago Printing

The University of Chicago has recently launched a new and improved campus printing system, offering benefits like reduced printing costs and complimentary scanning services. This system is accessible across various locations, ensuring you’re never far from a printer when you need one.

Phoenix cASH and Your UChicago Card

To utilize the uchicago printing services, you’ll primarily use your UChicago Card linked with Phoenix cASH. Phoenix cASH acts as your digital wallet for campus services, including printing. Adding Phoenix cASH to your UChicago Card grants you access to all copy, print, and scan machines throughout the university. You can find more information on how to add Phoenix cASH to your card on the Bursar’s Office website.

Web Printing: Print from Anywhere

For added convenience, UChicago offers a web printing service. The Web Printing portal allows you to submit print jobs from any device, whether you’re on or off campus. Simply upload your files through the PaperCut web portal, and you can release your print job at any campus printer. This is particularly useful for printing documents from your laptop or phone without needing to be directly at a print station. Remember, accessing the web portal requires you to be on the University network or connected via the UChicago cVPN.

How to Use UChicago Print Machines

Using the copy, print, and scan machines on the UChicago campus is straightforward. Here’s a step-by-step guide to get you started:

Authenticating Your UChicago Card (First Time Only)

The first time you use a uchicago printing machine, you’ll need to authenticate your UChicago Card. Tap your card at the machine and follow the on-screen prompts to enter your CNetID and password. This initial authentication links your card to the printing system. After this one-time setup, using the printers is as simple as tapping your card. For detailed instructions, you can refer to the Log in to Canon Multifunction Device guide.
