Holiday Closure & Adjusted Hours
Please be aware of our closures on December 25th–26th and December 30th–January 1st.
We will have adjusted hours on the following days:
- December 23rd: 12–6PM
- December 24th: 12–4PM*
- December 27th: 12–6PM
- December 28th: 12–6PM
- December 29th: 11–6PM*
* Please note the early closing time on December 24th and December 29th.
Monday Appointments Available
Our Chelsea bookstore is typically open by appointment only on Mondays. If you wish to browse our extensive selection of printed matter and make purchases on a Monday, you can easily book an appointment.
To schedule your Monday visit:

- Provide your Full Name (First, Last) and your preferred Appointment Date and Time. We can accommodate appointments between 11am–6pm.
- Appointments are one hour in duration. If you require a longer browsing period to fully appreciate our printed matter offerings, please indicate your desired time when you contact us.
- A member of our team will confirm your appointment request as soon as possible.
- Appointments are subject to availability and we recommend booking at least 48 hours in advance to avoid disappointment.

Our street-level storefront, attracting over 100,000 visitors annually, provides a dynamic snapshot of contemporary artists’ publishing. Our knowledgeable staff, working from our non-profit offices within the shop, are always on hand to assist you in finding exactly what you are looking for within the vast world of printed matter. Printed Matter is committed to accessibility and our space is fully wheelchair accessible, with lifts available for both the front steps and mezzanine access.
