Applying for a Fingerprint Clearance Card (FCC) has become more streamlined than ever, thanks to the Public Service Portal (PSP). This online platform now allows applicants to initiate and manage their FCC applications with ease. By creating a secure account on the PSP, individuals gain the ability to apply for their fingerprint cards, receive important updates, and monitor their application status conveniently online.
The introduction of the secure PSP marks a significant step forward in simplifying the application process. Applicants can now complete and submit their FCC applications electronically, along with securely paying the necessary fees directly to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) through a protected credit card payment system. Furthermore, for those who already possess an FCC, the portal offers the added convenience of ordering and paying for replacement cards directly through the PSP. The system is designed to guide users through each stage of the application, ensuring all essential information is provided before submission to AZDPS.
Upon submitting the application via the PSP, each applicant receives a unique Reference Number. This number is crucial for the next step: fingerprinting. Applicants are presented with a choice between electronic fingerprinting and using traditional paper fingerprint cards. It’s important to note that electronic fingerprinting is exclusively available for applicants physically located within Arizona. Those opting for electronic fingerprinting will be seamlessly redirected to the Electronic Fingerprinting Application Services vendor’s website to complete this part of the process. For applicants who choose to submit prints using paper fingerprint cards, a card will be mailed to them. Alternatively, they have the option to obtain a card from a fingerprint vendor. Regardless of the method chosen, it is vital that the Reference Number is included with the fingerprint submission, whether electronic or via paper card, to ensure proper processing by AZDPS.
All communication concerning applications and fingerprint cards will be channeled through the applicant’s secure PSP message center and the email address they provide. Specifically, applicants applying for Identity Verified Prints (IVP) cards who choose the paper fingerprint card method will receive a blue postage-paid return envelope along with their fingerprint cards for easy and secure submission. For individuals renewing valid IVP cards, the entire renewal process can now be conducted online directly through the PSP, further enhancing efficiency and convenience.
Existing cardholders are also encouraged to create an account on the PSP and link their current cards to their profiles. This integration allows for centralized management of their fingerprint card information and access to all the online services offered through the portal.
