The UM Print system actively contributes to sustainability efforts, aiming to cut down paper and supply waste by an impressive 30%.

What Services Does UM Print Offer?

UM Print provides a comprehensive suite of printing and document services to support your academic needs:

  • Wireless Printing Across Campus: Print effortlessly from anywhere on campus after a simple driver download.
  • Versatile Printing Options: Choose between crisp Black & White or vibrant Color Printing to suit your document requirements.

These services are readily accessible on all computers within university libraries and computer labs on both the Coral Gables and Medical campuses. For added convenience, you can also utilize UM Print from your personal Windows or Mac laptops by downloading the necessary UM Print drivers.

Why Was the UM Print System Implemented?

The primary goal behind implementing UM Print was to introduce seamless wireless printing capabilities throughout the University of Miami. Beyond wireless access, UM Print enhances your overall printing and copying experience by offering key advantages in convenience, security, and sustainability. As a cornerstone of the university’s “green initiative,” UM Print plays a vital role in reducing paper consumption and eliminating wasteful printing practices. Furthermore, it ensures the security of your print jobs, granting exclusive release access only to you at the printer.

Can Student Groups and Organizations Utilize UM Print?

Recognizing the printing needs of student groups and organizations (for flyers, posters, and more), the Student Activity Fee Allocation Committee (SAFAC) offers dedicated UM Print funding throughout the academic year. It’s important to note that SAFAC funding is not available to organizations already equipped with a copier/printer, or those under an umbrella organization that has received such funding. To apply for funding, please visit the SAFAC Funding Request Forms. Students are strongly advised against using their personal UM Print credits for group or organizational printing. Remember, each student receives an allocation of 130 UM Print credits annually for personal academic materials. Once this allocation is used, students can easily add funds to their UM Print account to continue using the service.

NOTE: If you encounter any issues with UM Print, please reach out to Information Technology using the Uprint Feedback Form.
