Howdy everyone, hello, and a big thank you to all of you!
UPDATE: Great news! I just settled the bill and fully paid for my B-Lab X1 Carbon Combo! That includes shipping and even a can of spray adhesive, just in case anything decides to take a leap of faith!
Now, Jim-Knopf, you’ve got me slightly puzzled. You mentioned, “it is not done with a very good printer and Bambu Studio”? Hold on a minute – I just dropped 18 grand on this impressive piece of tech! Are you suggesting my new Bambu Lab printer isn’t up to snuff?
My plan is to dive into printing cool designs from platforms like Printables and Thingiverse – all those amazing downloadable files! But your comment is making me question if I can actually print these downloadable print files successfully.
Being a bit of a dinosaur myself, my tech education dates back to the early eighties. Remember those days? I took a whirlwind tour through Architecture – four years crammed into one, resulting in a solid 0% comprehension. Back then, we grappled with this incredibly tedious software called AutoCAD 1.0. It was utterly incomprehensible for us guys with a single-core brain – multitasking wasn’t exactly our forte. (Monotasking for me meant: if I paused to think before speaking, I’d probably never utter a word.) I vaguely recall the university forking over a wheelbarrow full of cash to upgrade to version 1.4 or something! And no, software updates weren’t instant cloud downloads back then; the “cloud” involved thunderstorms and hoping Thor was in a good mood.
Could it be that this ancient AutoCAD is somehow related to the modern marvel of Autodesk Fusion 360? Fingers crossed that this newer Fusion 360 is a tad more intuitive! (A classmate still claims that just thinking about AutoCAD 1.0 is his ultimate sleep aid – knocks him out faster than a whack on the head with a rolling pin, as he puts it. And honestly, I get it…) Do you think an old dog like me can actually learn the basics of Fusion 360? Holding thumbs in anticipation!
I’m really looking forward to having your support as I tackle unboxing this beast. I’m genuinely thrilled to have your guidance!
I’ll definitely keep you all in the loop, folks!
